Doctor from the Rey Juan Carlos University, in Madrid, Spain, with maximum rating, International Mention and Extraordinary Doctoral Award. Master in Communication and Sociocultural Problems from the same institution. Degree in Social Communication from the University of Havana, Cuba.
Has the Titular Professor Certification with evaluation of A in research and teaching by the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA) and a recognized research triennium (2015-2017) by the Madrid R&D Agency.
He is currently Coordinating researcher of the UNESCO Chair for Research in Communication from the Rey Juan Carlos University and professor in its department of Communication Sciences and Sociology. He has been a professor at Fairfield University, Connecticut, U.S; Šiauliai State College, Šiauliai, Lithuania; at the Complutense University of Madrid; at the Central University of Ecuador and the University of Havana.
He has participated in several national and international research projects. Have publications in journals indexed in JCR and Scopus as Convergence, International Communication Gazette, International Journal of Communication, Global Media and Communication, Is there anything new: African Journalism Studies y el European Journal of Women's Studies, among other.
Is ECREA member. His research interests include: communication research theories and methodologies, studying the internet, gender and communication, communication and culture, communication and education, political communication and international communication.
